Table quiz

Table quiz will be held in the Pikers Lodge Hotel on Friday, 21st November at 8.30pm. Tables of 4 or individuals welcome. Proceeds to Loch Gowna Church of Ireland Restoration Fund. Your support would be much appreciated.


Loch Gowna Active Age Committee meeting on Thursday, 20th November in St Brigids Community Centre at 8.30pm. All committee members please attend.


Deepest sympathy is extended to the brothers, sisters and extended family members of Bridie McManus who passed away on Monday, 3rd November at her brother Tony and sister in law Rose’s residence in Drumhowra, Loughduff. Her remains were removed to St Joseph’s Church, Loughduff on Tuesday evening and following funeral mass on Wednesday at 9.30am burial took place in Loughduff cemetery. May she rest in peace.


Congratulations to the past and present 6th class pupils of St Patrick’s NS Gowna who won an award at the Fis Film festival held in Dublin last week. Their film “Cian the Giant” won the prize for best cinematography. This may be the start of bigger things to come for the past and present pupils of St Patrick’s NS.

Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Mark McKeever, son of Martin and Moninna McKeever, Drumhilla, Arva and Rosie Crowe, daughter of Damien and Mary Crowe, Coolbawn, Corlesmore who were married in St Michael’s Church, Potahee on Friday, 24th October. Celebrant Fr Sean McDermott assisted by Fr PJ Fitzpatrick. Mark is a key member of the Gowna and Cavan football team and Rosie is also a key member of the Lacken and Cavan team. The bride was given in marriage by her father, attended by bridesmaids Pamela and Aine Crowe. Best man Patrick Brady, groomsman Ciaran Fitzpatrick. Following the wedding ceremony the bridal party and guests celebrated the occasion with a reception held in the Kilmore Hotel, Cavan. We wish the happy couple a long life of good health and happiness in their married life together.
