Our best wishes to Stephen Mulvihill, son of Paddy and Breda, Ledwithstown and Antoinette Lennon, daughter of Tony and Nuala, Mosstown who were married in Saint Dominic’s Church, Kenagh on Friday, June 20. Celebrant of the wedding ceremony was Father Tom Barden PP, Kenagh. Bestman was Damien Mulvihill, groomsmen were Niall Mulvihill and Liam Mulvihill. Chief bridesmaid was Brenda Higgins and bridesmaids were Laura Lennon and Bobbie Mulvihill. Flower girl Ellie Mulvihill, pageboy Lee Lennon and readers were Leo Higgins and Dorothy McCormack. Offertory procession by Nuala Lennon and Breda Mulvihill. Church music was rendered by Fiona Lane. The reception was held in the Bloomfield, Mullingar where a large gathering of guests from both families enjoyed an unforgettable evening. We wish Stephen and Antoinette many happy years of married life.

Kilcommoc cemetery

Committee members will meet on Thursday evenings for the summer months from 8 to 9pm to do a little work. If you can join us for a little while – 10 minutes , 20 minutes or an hour, whatever you can manage, any Thursday or every Thursday, it will be appreciated. Cemetery Sunday this year will be on 10th August.

Athletics Club

Training for children and adults takes place every Monday night at Saint Dominic’s GAA pitch. Little athletics for children under 8 and juvenile training for ages 9 to 14 from 6.30 to 7.15pm. Adults (“Fit for Life”) for all levels of fitness from 7.30 to 8.30pm. Membership fees child or adult 20 euro with families at 50 euro. The club is affiliated to the Longford Athletic Club who will provide training and support to club members. We would like to welcome anyone interested in keeping fit from Kenagh and surrounding areas to come and join us every Monday night. Tidy towns

The judging for this year’s Tidy Towns and villages will take place soon. A big effort has been made around Kenagh in recent weeks including the painting of the old hall which has made a great difference. Some help from volunteers would be greatly appreciated, so people are invited to lend a hand on Tuesdays evenings from 7 – 9pm for the next few weeks. Working together is always good so maybe we’ll see you there.


The fourth annual haymaking fest will take place at Glanmore on Sunday, July 27th starting at 12 noon. All horse event with vintage machinery. Full particulars later.

Progressive 25

The numbers drawn in Kenagh GAA Lotto for June 22nd were 7, 14, 16, 22. There was one match three winner, Mary Nolan, Corina wins 80 euro.
