New baby

Congratulations to Seamus and Louise McNerney, Clonfin, on the birth of their first child, a boy on Thursday, January 23rd last. The new arrival is to be named Fergal James and he is a welcome grandson for James and Bridie McNerney and for Michael and Marion Farrell, Bornacoola and great grandson for Frank Sullivan, Aughakine. No doubt we’ll see Fergal line out in the Black and Amber of Ballymore in the future.

Nooreen was daughter of the late Jimmy and Mrs Cronogue and she is also survived by her sister, brother, aunts and uncles to who we offer our sincere sympathy. May she rest in peace.

Over the past weeks, a number of houses in the area have been broken into while the owners were away. This activity has caused major concern so we encourage all to be on the watch for anything suspicious and to report it to the local guards immediately. Please don’t assume that someone else will do it.

The annual Clonfin commemoration ceremony was held on Sunday last and the committee wish to sincerely thank all who attended with a special thanks to Bishop Colm O’Reilly who delivered a very informative and encouraging address. Full details later.
