Cancer fundraiser

The Abbeyshrule “Shave or Dye” fundraiser in aid of the Irish Cancer Society will be held in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule on Sunday next May 1st. Sponsorship cards are available in the area. There will also be an Auction and big raffle. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

Inny Golf Society

The Inny Golf Society under the new Captain Christy Canavan will be holding his initial outing on Sunday next May 1st in Farnham Estate Golf Club in Cavan. Tee time booked from 1 to 3p.m. tea/coffee will be available on arrival, free of charge. The fee for the golf is €35 per person. A time sheet will apply and is posted in Nally’s Pub. Book now by ringing Nally’s at 09064 32149 or Liam Flynn on 087 6986701. The golf for both ladies and gentlemen will be 18 hold stableford. Meals are available as players come in at The Radisson Hotel on the course. Prizes from sponsors, both new and old, will be gratefully accepted on the day. Christy wishes everyone an exciting, eventful and enjoyable day and a trouble free round of golf at this most challenging of venues.

Birthday wishes

Congratulations to Ann Cahill, Deerpark, Colehill who celebrated a very special Birthday with her family and many friends in Kiernan’s Pub last week. Many of Ann’s extended family travelled up from Galway to join in the celebrations. We wish Ann good health and happiness for the future.

School holidays

We hope all the Teachers and pupils from the local schools are enjoying their Easter holidays.
