DEATH: The death of Marie Steele Clondra and formerly of Park Road Longford took place during the week at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home. Deceased was in her 92nd year and over the past few months had become quiet frail as her health was failing. A native of Curry Co Sligo and following the death of her late husband Jack was left a young widow with three small children. Marie opened a grocery store on Park Rd, working long hours to provide for her family. Deceased was highly respected and made many friends in the area. She was devoted to her family and never lost contact with her Sligo roots. A kind and generous lady with a deep sense of her faith. Very large crowds attended removal to Clondra Church followed by burial on Wednesday last in St Attracta’s cemetery Rhue Co Sligo. We extend our deepest sympathy to her daughters Kathleen Killian Clondra, Mary Brett Feakle Co Clare; Ann Caine Curry Co Sligo ,sons in law, grandchildren great grandchildren relatives friends and neighbours. May she RIP.
