We extend sincere sympathy to Batty Murphy and family, Rockfield, Rathowen on the death of Mary, (nee Murray) in Tallaght Hospital on Wednesday of last week, 26th August. Mary is survived by her husband, Batty and family, Kenneth, Thomas, Enda, and Marie, Brother Martin Murray. Daughters in law Patricia and Laura and was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Lil. May she rest in peace. Our condolences go to her grandchildren, nephews, niece’s relatives, friends and extended family. Mary had many friends in this parish and will be missed by all especially at Streete Parish Park bingo where she enjoyed her Monday nights. Mary’s removal took place last Saturday evening from her home to St. Mary’s Church, Rathowen where her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Sunday at 11a.m. with burial afterwards in Rathaspic Cemetery.


It is with great sympathy I report the very sad death following a very short illness of Declan Connor, Rathowen in Hospital in Limerick last weekend. Declan is survived by his wife, Lily and son David. May he rest in peace. This sad news only came as we were going to press, so we have no further details.


Is extended to Kennina Fagan, Boherquill on the death of her husband Patrick last Saturday, as we go to press, so no details available. May he rest in peace.


Please remember Streete Parish Park are holding their annual 5k Run/walk in aid of upkeep of children’s play area on Friday evening, September, 4th starting at 7p.m. Registration from 6p.m. Adults €10, under 16s, €5. As mentioned before support for this event is needed and the play group committee ask me to seek your help. Also I am asked to request all who can might consider donating a prize for the raffle. Any donations can be given to Declan or Tracey of left in the shop in Streete for them. Any queries or offers please call Tracey 087 9287129. Even if only walking please join in and bring buggy if you want. All welcome.
