Tidy Towns

Anyone willing to get involved or help out, please contact Padraic Farrell, otherwise can everyone ensure they keep the village tidy and clean. All efforts for putting out flower boxes will be greatly appreciated.

Toddler Group

Parent & Baby/Toddler group is on every Monday in Currycahill Hall. All are most welcome to join us for a cuppa and a chat from 10.30am. Cost per family is just €3.

Cemetery Sunday

This will take place on Sunday, 28th June. Prayers and blessings in St. Emer’s at 2pm with Mass and blessings in Clonbroney at 3pm. There will be no vigil Mass in St. James’ church that weekend. We are pleading with all those cleaning their graves in preparation to please bring all their rubbish home with them. The usual collection will be taken at both graveyards for their upkeep throughout the year.

Congratulations to Fr. Seamus O’Rourke who was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Francis Duffy on Sunday last, 21st June at in St. Mel’s Cathedral. There was a fantastic crowd at the ceremony to welcome him into his new life. We pray God’s blessings on Fr. Seamus and wish him the very best on his journey.

Numbers drawn 5, 13, 26, 30. €60 Leonie Cahill, Glenohill. Seller’s prize Emma Doris. Draw takes place in Farrell’s pub for the month of June at 9pm. Jackpot is €2,800.

The total amount collected at the recent church gate collection for St Christopher’s Services was €549. Thank you to everybody who contributed and to the collectors also.

Well done

Well done to Catriona Reynolds and Eugene Murtagh who recently took to the stage in Granard’s fundraiser Stars in their Eyes.

GAA Summer Camp

Please contact Michael O’Sullivan 087 8364053 ASAP if your child/children are interested in attending a Cúl Camp in Ballinalee. They will be starting either July 27th or August 10th. These camps will only go ahead if there are sufficient numbers. The camp is not on the application form as numbers in the previous years have not been sufficient. If we want to keep the camp in the village each summer you need to register your interest within the next week.

Due to a production error in the June 10 edition of the Longford Leader, the Ballinalee notes were placed in with the Colmcille notes. Apologies for the confusion caused to our readers.
