In the Stag’s Head on Valentine’s night, 14th February. There is music from the Ramblers. Anyone who would like to host a table for the night can contact Carmel Reynolds 086 2489948. Food will be provided for all tables and tickets are €10. There will also be a raffle with spot prizes, including a Valentine’s cake donated by Ashleigh from Tasty Cakes. All proceeds go towards Friend’s of Chernobyl. 


Sean Connolly’s AGM takes place on Friday, the 13th February at 8pm in the clubhouse at Maguire Park and not on the date previously published. Members will receive nomination forms by the weekend. Mass for the deceased members of the club takes this Friday at 8pm in St. James’ Clonbroney.

GAA Membership 

Membership for Sean Connolly’s GAA Club is now due. Cost is €30 per adult or €50 per couple. Those using the facilities who pay membership are covered by insurance in the event of an accident. Those who do not pay membership and continue to use the facilities are not covered by insurance.

Longford Carers Association

Show your love for family carers this Valentine’s week at the Longford Carers Association tea/coffee morning, which takes place on Thursday, 12th February from 10am to 1pm in the Family Centre, St. Mel’s Road, Longford. 

Strictly Come Dancing

As you may already have heard Colin Dalton is taking part in Longford Goes Strictly Dancing in aid of Longford Youth Cafe. You can support by logging on to the fundraising page Dalton. Best of luck to Colin in his preparations.


To John Dowd, Glenoughill, who was named Club Person of the Year at the Killoe GAA annual dinner dance. The Killoe ladies also received their Senior Championship medals on the night. This included a large number of women from Ballinalee. 


To the two Ballinalee N.S. teams who took part in the Granard Credit Union Quiz on Friday night. Congratulations to the U-11 team who came third - Eoghan Carrigy, Daniel Farrell, Conor Columb Flynn Sharkey and Katelyn Carrigy. Congratulations also to the U-13 team Michael Kiernan, Anna Connors, Sinead Olivakaris and Mary Sheridan. Many thanks also to the teachers and parents involved. 

Clonfin Commemoration

A large crowd came to the commemoration on Sunday last. Well done to all involved in keeping this tradition going.
