On Friday night next in Fox’s of Tooman the Gortletteragh GAA hold their grand draw which includes a top prize of two Hogan Stand tickets for Sunday’s All Ireland Football Final. You still have time to get your name in for the draw. Lines are still on sale for 3 euro each or 2 lines for a fiver and if you wish to give yourself a better chance you can buy a card with 26 lines for 50 euros. Second prizes is a one night B&B and evening meal in the 4 Star Lough Rynn Castle Hotel and third prize is 50 euro

Cormac Ó Suilleabháin from Ballinamore will launch his new book titled ‘Leitrim’s Republican Story 1900 – 2000’ on this Thursday night, September 18th in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon at 8.30pm. This detailed book will be launched by Tim Pat Coogan. If you can’t make it on Thursday night there are two further launches: on Friday, September 19th in The Standing Stone Hotel, Ballinamore and on Saturday night, September 20th in the Bee Park Community Centre, Manorhamilton, both timed for 8.30pm. This book will be a welcome addition to the already valuable collection of Leitrim publications.
On Saturday evening last our senior team put in a top class performance in beating Glencar/Manor in the Bee Park. They have just one more league game left, which is against county championship finalists, Aughawillian. Well done lads.
