The Longford branch of Arthritis are resuming their walking group in the Mall Complex, Longford at 11am every Thursday. A six week course of Arthritis-friendly seated exercise classes will commence in the Family Centre, St Mels Road, Longford on Wednesday, 19 February 2014 at 11am. Wedding congratulations

Wedding congratulations to Donna Downey, Crann- Lir, Aughaboy, Killoe who exchanged nuptial vows with Seamus Leavy, Ardagh, joined by families and friends in Castletowngeoghan, Co Westmeath last week, afterwards an immensely enjoyable reception was held in the Drews Inn. The parish extend very good wishes to Seamus, Donna and their families for a future filled with great health and happiness.


The Cilloe Yew Tree Players are staging their hilarious Sam Cree comedy “Widows Paradise” directed by John Doherty in Ennybegs Community Centre Killoe on Thursday 20/Saturday 22/ Sunday 23/ Monday 24 February 2014. Doors open at 8pm nightly with show commencing at 8.30pm. Tickets cost 10 euro pp and booking essential Tel 087 2911994. Promised a night of laughter from start to finish. EDI centre

The Longford E.D.I. Centre are commencing with a basic 8 hour computer course delivered in a 2 hour session either morning, afternoon or evening. Course includes sending/ receiving emails, buying tickets online, banking online etc. Further details contact Bernie or Amanda Tel 043 3347514.


A big birthday greetings to Daragh Gilna, up there in Esker, Killoe , son of PJ and Vera who was joined by family and friends to help him celebrate his 18th birthday in Coy’s Pub, Longford last weekend. The parish extend good wishes to Daragh and his family for a future filled with great health, happiness and continued success in your studies. Ah Daragh you’re not getting your own key to the front door yet, so don’t be asking. Happy 18th birthday.

Killoe pioneers

The youth who enrolled as pioneers from St Theresa’s NS, Clontumpher will be presented with pins and membership cards on Sunday, 2 March 2014 (Temperance Sunday). Adults are encouraged to consider abstaining from alcohol during Lent by taking a “short term pledge”.


The Irish Motor Neurone disease Association are holding their annual church gate collection on Saturday 21/ Sunday 22 February 2014 at both churches in the parish. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
