Christmas party

This year’s party takes place in Kilglass GAA function rooms on Sunday, 15th of December at 2.30pm. Senior citizens are free to attend. Anyone other than senior citizens, who wishes to attend can do so at a cost of 20 euro per person. Spot prizes and raffles on the night. Music by the Rodeo man. Goal Mile

The annual GOAL mile takes place in Bornacoola GAA grounds at 2pm. You can walk, jog or run a mile an be entertained afterwards in the Copper Still by Charlie McGettigan, actor/playwright Seamus O’Rourke, Laura Reynolds and Sean Mahon. Auction of signed jerseys from Dublin, Cork, Mayo, Man Utd, Liverpool, Celtic, Australian rules Roy Keane signed autobiography, accomadation in Kilronan, Wineport Lodge and much more. All monies go to help those affected by famine and diasters.


Winning numbers were: 9, 20, 22, 28, bonus 23. 2 x 100 euro winners, Betty Hunt, Claire McGlynn. The winners of the successful Kilglass Gaels quiz last Friday were Edmond Conboys team which comprised of Edmond, Daniel Duffy, Antoinette McCormack and Catherine Cox. Second prize went to Mick Quinn, Gerry Conboy, Gerry Tighe and Kevin Geoghean.


Andrew Reynolds, Mullagh is hosting a GOAL mile event in Strokestown parish church on St Stephens day at 1pm, followed afterwards by refreshments. Sponsorship cards will be available locally. Please support.

Special Needs Group

The organisation are hosting the ‘Tribute Ski’ honouring Brian King, Kilglass on Christmas morning from 12 to 2pm. Music by the Rodeo Man. Food and refreshments served. A great family event with activities for children. Sponsorship cards available locally, please support this worthwhile event.


Congratulations to the Kilglass Scor na nOg children who are through to the county final in Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone on Sunday 15th of December next. Tickets available online or from the box office. Congratulations to the figure dancers, Ciara Compton, Katie and Eimear Deehan, Aoife Frayne, Megan Hughes, Kate Lawe, Clodagh Owens, Rebecca Rogers and their mentor Laura Duffy. Also congratulations to solo singer Freda Beirne and Genieve Cox. Cormac Hoare is now through to recitation. Commiserations to the quiz teams who done well but unfortunately didn’t advance to the next stage, they were Aishling and Daragh McGuire, Aaron Murphy, Connor Gallogly, Darragh and Eolann Conroy, Connor Rogers and Cormac Hoare.
