Connacht Gold: A huge congratulations to Ikeya Collins from Cloverwell, Edgeworthstown who won the Connaught championship on Saturday in Sligo. Ikeya ran an outstanding race to take Gold in the the under-12 600m final. This is an excellent achievement and a new personal best time for Ikeya. Ikeya’s hard work and determination have resulted in her completing the track and field season unbeaten, achieving success against some of the best athletes in the province.
Summer Camp: County Longford Youth Service are running a Summer Camp in Edgeworthstown during the week of July 11th to 15th. The camp is open to all young people aged 10 -18. Song contest: Congrats to Emmet Flood, who was picked out of 250 entries in the Glinsk Song Writing contest. He is one of 13 finalists from all over Ireland and Britain, to qualify for this prestigious award, which will take place on Sunday, July, 3rd in Glinsk, Co. Galway.
Celebrations: Belated birthday wishes to Dawn Galvin, Kilbride Park, who recently celebrated her 30th birthday in The Sportsmans Inn with family and friends.

Scór: Congratulations to Owen Smith, Daire Mc’Guinness and Daniel Connell who won the final of the Question Time of School Scór on Sunday last. Our instrumental Team and our Solo singer Aisling O’Reilly were marvellous but were pipped at the post. We are so proud of them all.
Reunion: The next meeting of the Glen National School Reunion committee will take place in Glen NS on Wednesday, 15th June at 8.30pm. All are welcome to attend. Work is at an advanced stage in preparation for the reunion and is going well. Many thanks to those who have made very generous donations for the reunion.
Community Alert: Community Alert meeting held last week. In attendance was Sergeant Brennan and Community Garda Shanley. Monitored Alarms have been fitted in sixteen older persons home and if any one feels they need the alarm contact any committee member. Also any thing unusual in the area report to the guards .The committee are Michael Hanratty Ray Noonan Carmel Noone Seamus Gilchrist Jnr and Tom Victory.
Summer Camps: The Attic Youth Cafe and Foroige are currently taking names of young people interested in participating in Summer Camps at The Old School House, The Green Edgeworthstown. There will be various activities and trips away, including team building , raft making and kayaking. Groups for 12- 17 years take place Between June 28th-30th. Cost €20 per person.
