Speech/ drama

Bright Sparks speech and drama classes resume in Ennybegs Community Centre, Killoe for children ages 5-13 years every Thursday evening. Further information contact Cathy tel 087 1142669.


A request for further volunteers by the Athlone Midland Samaritans to help maintain their befriending service on a twenty four hour support service. No experience is required and all training is provided. Further information contact tel 085 2845010.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Conor Igoe and families, Bryanstown, Mullingar on the sad bereavement of his wife Bridie, nee Conlon late of Castlebrock, Ballinalee who was laid to rest last week. The parish express condolence to her husband Conor, daughters Tracey, Kelly, Ellen, Kate, mother Mae Conlon, (nee Loughrey, Clonee, Killoe) and families, Kate Ann Caherly (nee Loughrey) and families, Micknag,h Killoe, Packie and Betty Loughrey and families, Clonee, Killoe extended families, neighbours, friends. Requiem mass was celebrated in the Church of the Assumption Loughnavalley, Co Westmeath with burial in adjoining cemetery. May Bridie rest in peace. The parish also express sincere condolence to Tony and Lillie Carberry, Longford and families JJ and Edell, (nee Carberry), Dunleavy and Families, Ohill, Killoe extended families, neighbours, friends on the sad bereavement of their daughter Mary who was laid to rest last week. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Mel’s Cathedral Longford with burial in Ballymacormack cemetery. May Mary rest in peace.

Big birthdays

Congratulations to Bradley Thomson, Cran Lur, Aughboy, Killoe who celebrated Ah! Bradley that all important age of consent and enjoyed this celebration joined by families and friends last week. Also congratulations to sister Laura who celebrated another big key to the door birthday with a lotta exhausting celebrations in the Thomson household. The parish express good wishes to Bradley, Laura and their families for years of continuous health and happiness in their chosen careers. Happy 18th birthday Bradley and happy 21st birthday Laura.

Progressive 25 card game resumed on Monday nights and continues for the winter months at 8.30 pm. Why not come along and have a game. New players are especially welcome.

It’s great to see the new houses in this development looking so well after a long hold up. Credit to Colm Kelly of KDM Construction LTD on the work they have done on this site. We wish to thank them for being so co-operative with our Village Enhancement Group when undertaking this work and we wish them well . Hopefully we will soon have new people coming to the Community.
