Give Blood
The mobile unit of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service will visit St. Brigid’s Community Centre, Loch Gowna on Monday, 13th January and Tuesday, 14th January. The clinic will operate each day from 5.00p.m. -8.30p.m. As 3000 units of blood are required each week to service the needs of our hospitals we appeal to all donors to make a special effort to attend. New donors are always welcome.

The launch of the John Reilly election campaign will be held in Aughnacliffe Community Centre on this Wednesday, January 8th at 8.00p.m.
Engagement
Congratulations are extended to Shane Mulligan and Karen Burns on the recent announcement of their engagement. Shane captained St. Columba’s to bring the Leader Cup to the parish after a gap of sixty three years. We wish the popular couple many years of happiness together.
Leader Cup
Calenders and framed photographs of St. Columba’s winning Leader Cup team are on sale. Calendars sell at €5 each. Framed photographs at €25. Both items are available in Mulligan’s shop and Cloonagh P.O. They make an excellent present for friends abroad.
St. Vincent de Paul Shop
‘’New 2 U’’ shop at Market St. Granard is open every Friday from 10.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 11.00am – 5.00pm. It will also open on the first Tuesday of each month from 10.00am – 5.00pm. Please note change of business hours for winter months.
St. Columba’s G.F.C held their weekly lotto draw in The Angler’s Rest on Thursday, 2nd January. The winning numbers were 3, 4, 12, 30 of €4250 remaining intact. Consolation prizes of €20 were won by the following - John Dermody, Mullinroe; Olivia Denning, Derrycasson; J.J. Ellis, Toome; Christine Donohoe, Larkfield and David McGivney, Cloonagh. On sales this week are as follows: Hideaway: Johnny Dermody, Keogh’s / Angler’s Rest: John Keegan; Kilcogy: Conor & Aidan McElligott. Please drop tickets into Cloonagh P.O before 5.30pm on Monday.
Ladies Footballers
As part of their fundraising activities the local ladies football club are holding a weekly draw based on the bonus ball in the main draw of the national lottery. Sheets are on sale in local shops or are available from any club member. Match the bonus ball in Saturday’s night main draw and you will earn yourself €20. Lines are just €2. Six monthly tickets are available for €50 by contacting Marie Matthews. Your support would be very much appreciated each week.
