The Loves of Cass McGuire

Castlemanor Players present The Loves of Cass McGuire written by Brian Friel and directed by Fr. Patsy Young on Friday 30 August & Saturday 31 August 2013.  For more than fifty years Cass McGuire has worked a block from Skid Row, among deadbeats and washouts - people who live in the past. Gathering Stitches

Carrigallen Crafty Ladies are running a year long event as part of The Gathering 2013. For online information check out This is a fun, creative and exciting project called Gathering Stitches and we want all of you readers to be part of it. The idea is to make a quirky patchwork quilt, but it will made with your patchwork squares using memories or stories of what Ireland, Leitrim, or Carrigallen means to you! We are not looking for perfection so anybody can do it. The only limitation is the square, finished size has to be 12” by 12” with a plain border for us to join to the main quilt. You can start many already have. Squares have arrived from faraway places such as Dubai, America, Canada, Thailand and also closer to home.  Some of those pieces are in display in the window beside the Post Office and in Just Jules’ window.

Pass this on to your relatives around the world and we look forward to hearing from them or alternatively they can visit Carrigallen, Co Leitrim on Tuesday 24 September 2013 for a day of creative fun, entertainment and craic. For more information please email
