Dog Warden: Attention all dog owners, the Dog Warden will be in the Ballymahon area for the next few weeks checking to see if you have your Dog Licence.

Glee Club: The Local Glee Club (singing, dancing and acting for children) is looking for a Volunteer to help out with weekly Clubs. The suitable person would need to be energetic and enthusiastic to learn about and be involved in children’s performance/staging. This would be a great learning opportunity for any young person interested in working with children and who has a passion for singing, dancing, drama or all. Credit Union 25 years in Ballymahon: Congratulations to Ballymahon and District Credit Union who are celebrating 25 successful years in business in Ballymahon. They have gone from strength to strength since their opening in March 1988, they play a huge role in the community and have also supported several local charities and organisations down the years. We wish the best of luck to the Branch Manager, Noelle Doherty, staff Evelyn Rooney and Edwina Kelly, Directors and Supervisors the best of luck in the years ahead. Well done everyone.

Midland Retired Secondary Teachers Association: will be holding their AGM on Tuesday, April 9th at 11.30a.m. in Longford Library. Lunch will follow and then they will travel to Longford Garden Centre, Drumlish Road for 3.00p.m. where Laura Shaw will give demonstration and answer questions on all things related to gardening. Sympathy: We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Mick Farrell, Mostrim road and Joe Farrell , Creevaghbeg on the sudden death last week of their brother John, Two Mile House, Naas. John and his wife were regular visitors to Ballymahon down the years and were popular with everyone here. Our sympathy is also extended at this sad time to John’s wife, Fidelma, his mother Kate, sisters Linda and Catherine, brothers Hyginus and Dermot , brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and all his relatives and wide circle of friends. May God grant rest to his soul.

Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage: The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place this year from 27th May to 1st June. The fully-inclusive price is €699.00. Co Longford Rural Transport: Longford Community Resources Ltd, through the Co Longford Rural Transport Programme operates 23 rural transport services throughout Co Longford. A recent re-structuring proposal endorsed by the Minister for Commuter and Public Transport outlines a number of changes to the Rural Transport Programme nationally, including the setting up of Regional Transport Units which will place the Co Longford Rural Transport into the new Eastern and Midlands Regional Unit with counties Westmeath, Laois and Offaly. Longford Community Resources Ltd is holding public meetings to give an opportunity to service users and the general public to discuss this re-structuring proposal. Minor football club: Ballymahon/Forgney Minor football club are running a Sweep Draw on the Aintree Grand National on Saturday April 5th. Tickets are now available at €2 each or a book of 3 for €5.

Do you want to learn to Kayak: Inny Kayakers, based in Ballymahon, will be running beginners courses this Spring/Summer.
