Cemetery Sunday Ceremonies: On Sunday next the 17th July cemetery Sunday prayers and blessing of graves will take place in Tahgsinod cemetery after 10am mass in Carrickedmond. The following are dates and times for cemetery Sunday ceremonies in the remaining graveyards in the parish. 24th July: Mass and the blessing of graves in Abbeyshrule cemetery at 11am. 24th July: Mass and the blessing of graves in Abbeyderg cemetery at 7pm. 31st July: Mass and the blessing of graves in Carrickedmond cemetery at 11am. Due to cemetery in Abbeyshrule on Sunday 24th July the vigil mass which normally takes place in Abbeyshrule on Saturday 23rd July will on this date only be celebrated in Carrickedmond church.
Keys Found: A set of keys were recently found inside the gate of Abbeyshrule cemetery. The owner can have these keys returned by contacting Fr Tiernan.
Cycling Group: The Carrickedmond cycling group will meet up for their next group cycle on Monday evening the 18th July at 7pm. The meeting point will be Carrickedmond church car park. All interested adults are invited to come along. Children are also welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. All attending must wear a helmet. The route will be planned on the evening. Youth Camp: County Longford youth centre are running a youth camp in Legan from the 15th to the 19th August. This camp will be for boys and girls from teen age up to 18 years.
Hard Luck: To the Longford football senior team who were beaten by a more experienced Tyrone team in the championship qualifiers in Pearse Park Longford on Saturday evening last.
Harvest Festival: The next meeting of the Longford harvest committee will take place in Adi Farrells Lanesboro on Friday night next the 15th July at 9.30pm. All members please attend.

Summer Holidays: At this time of year many people from the area are travelling in Ireland and abroad on their summer holidays. Also many people are home in the parish visiting family and friends. Hopefully everyone enjoys their holidays and please remember to be careful on the roads at all times.
