It is particularly unsightly to approach a town or village and see the election posters defaced. It is most unsatisfactory when it is in your own area. This is something that should not happen. We all have our differences with politicians and I suppose this time more than any but defacing is not the way to express your views. We can meet them on their canvass, we can raise our objections among family and friends during conversations, we can join and canvass with opposition parties and the strongest way is by not voting for the politician that you feel let you down but defacing their signs and posters should not happen.
The organising committee of the local Lourdes Invalid Fund Collection held at masses in St. Mary’s Church Lanesboro would like to sincerely thank everybody that gave so generously. The sum realised amounted to 571.70 euro.
