Motorcycle Run

Motorcycle Run

Carrickedmond Abbeyshrule Defibrillator committee would sincerely like to thank all who organised and supported their most recent successful fundraiser on Sunday, the 7th September. This was the groups 7th annual run to date. Many thanks to the bikers, who once again returned to the picturesque village in great numbers to support a worthy cause. Funds raised go towards the upkeep of the community based defibrillator scheme. Special words of appreciation to those who provided sponsorship and spot prizes. The run covered a total of 60 miles and was professionally marshalled by Garda Traffic Corps and Ballymahon Bikers MCC. Support vehicles were provided by Gerry Burke and Robert McNamara with Séamus McGuire providing medical cover. Fr. Peter Tiernan launched the run with a much appreciated blessing. This was on the eve of his departure to his new parish of Cloone and Aghavas. Refreshments prior to the run were provided by local ladies and after were kindly sponsored by The Rustic Inn. A total of €1,137 was raised to date. These funds will be used to support our community scheme, upkeep and maintenance of the defibrillators, office and supplies etc. Ongoing training courses and refresher courses are constantly available in St. Sinneach’s Hall. Please contact Anthony on 0863993933 or Seamus on 0868286748 for further details.
