Olde Fair day
Our annual Olde Fair Day was a fantastic success, and we thank everyone who took part and came to see us on the day. It was a successful event for the community. We are delighted to be able to put some money back into the community after we have all our bills paid. We have chosen the following local organisations/charities to donate to - Ballinamuck Playground, BJs (Ballinamuck Youth Club), Ballinamuck Enterprise, Walk a mile with Emily to make Histiocytosis Aware (Theresa Gearty Kane), Ballinamuck Kids Christmas Party, Ballinamuck Senior Citizens Party, Dromard Rural Development. Looking forward to Olde Fair Day 2015.

Tidy Towns
We are very pleased with our results, an increase of 16 points! We were also very happy to learn that we were given an endeavour award for our hard work! A successful year all round! Thanks to everyone who has helped out during the year and keep an eye out for details on our plans for the coming year. Copies of the full Tidy Town report are in Gala for anyone who would like one.

Playground
We are pleased to announce that our friends at Ballinamuck Olde Fair Day included us in their donations this year. We are very grateful as this allowed us to clear our credit union loan, we are now debt free! Many thanks again to Ballinamuck Olde Fair Day, North Longford & Arva Credit Union & the local community for their help throughout.
Drumlish Tidy Towns has enjoyed another very successful year in the National Tidy Towns Competition, retaining their top spot in Category B (villages under 1000 population) in Co. Longford. Drumlish is two years into a plan that will see the place transformed if the consistency and hard work continue. (Kilkenny the National winner started their plan 6 years ago). The judge’s report was very positive and complimentary and lists many projects, buildings and businesses that caught the judge’s eye as well as one or two that need a lift. The report is available at Drumlish Library or on the NTT’s webpage. There would be no success without the committed volunteers who have been out every Saturday since March 9th last, and the excellent work of the RSS & TÚS workers who add and contribute to the bigger work projects and to all those who help in myriad ways – fundraising and looking out for and after our projects and joining in the big clean ups. Three major projects were accomplished in the year past and at least two more will be on stream for next year’s competition. These are all listed in the Village Plan and remaining focussed on these will bring the village up to a very high standard in the next few years. Can you imagine how the village would look if there was no Tidy Towns?
