Knitting/Crochet classesâ€¨The Perfect Petal, Main Street is starting knitting/crochet classes on Wednesday, Sept 23rd at 10.30am - 12pm. Classes will run on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm - 8pm. Just bring along an item you would like to work on. Classes are â‚¬4 per person and places are limited, so please book in advance. Also starting on Saturday, 27th September form 2.30pm - 4pm is a kids craft class. Alzheimer Society of Ireland
The Longford Branch of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland would like to announce that our church gate collection will be held on Saturda, 27th and Sunday, 28th September throughout the county. The money raised will greatly contribute to our continued services in the area. These include a home care service, a respite service, a transport service and a day care facility. All of these services are dedicated to respecting the rights of Alzheimerâ€™s disease, and supporting their carers. Please give generously. Thank you.
Draw for tickets to the All-Ireland Hurling replay will take place on Wednesday night in Philip Quinns. All Ireland ticket winners in the Members Draw were Martin Cosgrove, Bartley McGovern and Terry Casey. There was no jackpot winner in the last Lotto draw. Numbers drawn were 9, 16, 18, 29. Twenty-five euro winners were Jackie Devine, Lisa Peyton, Noeleen Burke and M. Carrigy.
CE Scheme Vacancy
Edgeworthstown Development Association have a vacancy on their CE Scheme. Accredited training will be provided to support your career while on the CE Scheme. Duties will include the maintenance and general upkeep of the The Green, the Old schoolhouse and its general surrounds. Employability Skills Level 3
Edgeworthstown Development Association Ltd will be running an Employment Skills Level 3 Course under the Back to Education Initiative (BTEI). BTEI courses are free of charge to people in receipt of an eligible Social Welfare payment and for everyone with less than a Leaving Certificate qualification or equivalent. A total of 60 credits is required to receive the full Level 3 Award. These include: Internet Skills, Career Preparation, Mathematics, Container Gardening, Personal Effectiveness, Outdoor Vegetable Crop & Cookery.
