Celebrate with Elaine
On this Saturday night, September 27th an Irish night to honour Ballymore girl Elaine Reilly will be held in Farrell’s in Ballinalee with a host of musicians in attendance. Elaine is the present All Ireland champion in both banjo and mandolin and this night is been organised to congratulate her on her great achievement and is also a great opportunity for the locals to hear the Cream of Irish music play. No doubt a huge crowd will assemble in Ballinalee, so come early and enjoy a great night.
The late Johnny Cronogue
It’s with much sadness and regret that we record the death of Johnny Cronogue of Longford Road, Granard which occurred on Thursday morning last, September 18th. A native of Bunlahy, Johnny was in failing health for sometime but his death came as a shock to his family and many friends. Johnny was care taker and grave digger in Granardkille for a number of years and it was at this work that he endeared himself to every one who needed his help and he proved to all that he was a kind, decent man who will be sadly missed by all. Like all his family, loyalty was a priority for Johnny and he was a man of his word and could be really depended on. We offer our sincere sympathy to his wife Kathleen, his daughters Mary, Jackie, Julie Anne and Bernie, his sons Michael and John, his brothers Michael and Tommy, sisters Bella Coyle and Kathleen Murphy and extended family. Great crowds attended both his removal and funeral and he was laid to rest in Granardkille cemetery following Mass on Sunday in St Mary’s in Granard. May he rest in peace.
