Work4You

Information Stand, Edgeworthstown Library & Granard Library ‘Work4You’ set up by Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides a free vocational assessment service for individuals who have an acquired brain injury and would like assistance and guidance in returning to work, training or education.  It is free to anyone with an acquired brain injury and in receipt of a payment from the Dept. of Social Protection.  If you are interested in the service or would like more information, Work4You are holding a Pop-Up Information Stand in Edgeworthstown Library on Tuesday 22nd July 2014 between 11am – 1pm and Granard Library onTuesday 22nd July 2014 between 2pm-4pm.  All are welcome.  For further information please call 044 9338773.

 

Cemetery committee

The Cemetery committee would like to thank all those who supported their collection at Cemetery Sunday on the 26th June. The amount raised was €1,982. A big thank you to everyone.

Herterich Artisan Butchers

Herterich Artisan Butchers will host a cookery demonstration night in conjunction with celebrity Chef Garry O’Hanlon of Viewmount House and TV3 in Longford Golf Club at 7pm on Monday, 28th July. Tickets cost €10 with proceeds of the event going to Longford Social Services. Herterich’s will officially launch their web site on the night. It will be a good evenings entertainment with a raffle and spot prizes plus vouchers given out. Tickets can be purchased at our shop on Ballymahon Street and also at the door on the night.

Tractor Run

The Philip Sorohan Memorial Tractor Run is on Sunday, 20th July 2014. All proceeds go to the Patient Care Fund, St Joseph’s Care Centre, Longford and Arus Carolan Nursing Unit, Mohill. Registration takes place at the 98 Bar Ballinamuck at 10.30 am on Sunday, 20th July with refreshments served. For more information contact 086 3847482 or 086 8724458.

Pilgrimage

Pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick, Reek on Sunday, July 27th, 2014.  Bus departing from the  Church in Newtownforbes at 5.30am - Cathedral Car Park at 5.40. Bring a packed lunch and a bottle of water and a long stick for climbing.  To book a seat ring 086 0405621 or 087 6613510.

GAA Summer Camp

A camp will take place in Allen Park on Tuesday, 5th August to Friday, 8th August from 10am to 2.30pm for 5 to 13 year old boys and girls. Costs €30 per child - €45 for 2 children (from same family) - €60 for 3 or more children (from same family). Registration on Friday, 25th July and Tuesday, 29th from 7pm to 9pm in Ralph Room – Allen Park. Lunch will be provided on Friday, 8th August.
