Macra na Feirme

Drumlish/ Ballinamuck Macra na Feirme is an organisation for young people between the ages of 17 and 35 who are interested in meeting new people and getting involved in sports, travel, drama, debating, or just want to meet new people and have some fun! Library events

The adult education officer is now attending the library regularly with information on courses available locally, if you want to see her, contact the library on 0433324760 for details and appointment. Computer courses are starting again in the near future beginners and advanced welcome – for information contact Helen in the library. We are hoping to get our book club underway for the winter. If you have any ideas or want to join contact Helen at the library.


Bingo takes place every Tuesday in 98 Hall Ballinamuck. Nightly jackpot €1300

The young people from St. Mary’s NS who are making their First Communion and Confirmation will be enrolled at a prayer service in St. Mary’s Church on Monday 14th October at 7.30pm. The children and their parents are requested to be present.


Training opportunities for People in receipt of any Disability/illness payment commences in the EDI Centre Longford.  This 8 week part time programme includes FETAC accredited modules with work experience included.  To register for this programme contact EDI Centre 043 3347515.

Badminton Club

Badminton will take place in Drumlish Community Centre every Thursday night at 9.00pm. New members welcome and beginners particularly welcome.

Fundraising draw
The New Cemetery Committee are organising a Fundraising Draw which will take place in O’ Reilly’s Bar on Saturday 26th October.  Prizes are 1. €1,000, 2. 32” TV, 3. €100 Voucher, 4. €100 Voucher, 5. €100 Voucher.  Tickets cost €10 and are on sale now, tickets will also be sold door to door throughout the parish between now and 26th October. For further information please contact any committee member. 

Carol Galvin fundraiser

A fundraising night will be held in the Village Inn Drumlish on October 12th for Carol Galvin daughter of Willie & Philomena Forde, Cloonaugh Lr, and natives of Kilmahon. Carol diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis eight years ago is confined to a wheelchair and was recently diagnosed with a chronic form of Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease treatment is only available in Germany and will cost 40,000 euro. Carol lives in Athlone with her husband David and six year old daughter. David, her husband is confident and hopeful that the right treatment could bring about major improvements in Carol’s health. Her treatment will be intense and Carol will have to stay at the clinic for the first 3 weeks..he will then have to travel to Germany once a month for a minimum of a year. Your help and support for this Fundraiser will be greatly appreciated.

St. Helen’s

Congratulations to St. Helen’s ladies football team on their great victory on Sunday last. They are now through to Leinster Semi-final where their opposition will be the Offaly Champions. We wish the team and mentors continued success.

Car boot sale

Choir Practice for new children’s choir on Tuesday evenings from 6.15 – 6.50pm. Parents presence welcome.

Give Blood

The Mobile Unit will be in the Longford Arms Hotel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4.30 – 8pm. Your help is necessary so the IBTS can help others.

Heritage & History

A meeting will take place in Drumlish Branch Library on Wednesday 16th October at 7.00pm with a view to setting up this group in a more formal way. All welcome.


Ballinamuck Community Association - A meeting will be held in the ‘98 Hallon Wednesday 9th October at 8.30pm. All members please attend.
