Filming for Ken Loaches film “Jimmys Hall” took place in Drumsna on Wednesday week last. Lower Main Street and across the Bridge into Roscommom were the focus as the Guards brought Jimmy to Carrick. Barry Ward plays Jimmy Gralton who was shamefully deported from Ireland in the 1930’s. The Film is due for release next Summer.
A Fund Raising Night will be held in the Village Inn on October 12th for Carol Galvin C/o Willie & Philomena Forde, Cloonaugh Lower, Drumlish and natives of Kilmahon. Carol, diagnosed with MS eight years ago is confined to a wheelchair and was recently diagnosed with a chronic form of Lyme Disease also. Lyme Disease treatment is available in Germany is due to cost €40,000. Carol lives in Athlone with her husband David and 6 year old daughter. Your help and support of this Fundraiser will be greatly appreciated.
