The Autumn Station Masses have commenced t. Please see calendar below. Grenhall Upper, Aughnacross, Aughavadden and Carrowdunican; Teresa Dowd. Thursday 10th, Clonmee; Patricia and Gerard Farrell. Friday 11th, Ballinahinch and Cashel; Ann and John Bannon. Monday 14th – Clougher, Cornadough, New Row and Bornaveera; Sumi and Kenneth Donlon. Tuesday 15th – Newpark: Molly Murtagh. Friday 18th: Caltrabeg, Streamstown and Ballina; Ann and James Cribben. Friday 25th – Stonepark: Ann and Sean Melia. Monday 28h - Derryshannogue and Derryglosh: Carmel and Tom Smyth. Tuesday 29th: Fortwilliam, Carrickmoran and Greenhall Lower: Lorraine and Edward Kearney. Wednesday 30th - Derryhawn Mór: Kathleen and Michael Casey. Thursday 31st: Confessions at 7.45pm, Mass at 8pm.

Community Games

Cashel Community Games A.G.M. takes place on Thursday, 17th October at 8.30 p.m. in the G.A.A. Clubhouse. If we don’t have enough interest, then the Community Games will not take place. So we are hoping that there will be a large turnout.


The enrolment Mass for Confirmation will be celebrated this Sunday, 13th October at 10.30 a.m.


October is the month of The Rosary. The weekly recitation of the Rosary resumes on Friday, 4th October at 7.30 p.m. All are welcome


Longford Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability - Newtowncashel Branch will hold it’s A.G.M. in The Hill this Thursday, 10th October at 8p.m. All are welcome.


The enrolment Mass for First Confession and First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Sunday, 20th October at 10.30 a.m.

Teenage Mass

There will be a practice for the next Teenage Mass in the Church, this Saturday 12th October at 8.35pm (after Mass). Second Level students and all who are supportive of this initiative are urged to attend.


The death occurred on Wednesday, 2nd October last of Brigid Smyth, nee Grier, Cornadough. To her daughters, Mary, Geraldine, Frances and son Pat, we extend our deepest sympathy. May her soul rest in peace.

New resident

It is good to see a new resident come back to the village. Michael Murray, a native of the parish has returned to take up residence after a successful career in Teagasc. Now Chairman of the Tidy Towns, a prominent member of St Christopher’s and the Harvest Festival, we welcome this man of many talents.
