Tomorrow (Thursday) sees the start of a four day International Ballooning Festival in Ballymahon.
Teams from the United States, Britain and mainland Europe are expected to descend on the south Longford town’s historic Newcastle House for an event that is sure to attract large crowds from across the region.
Action each evening is scheduled to get underway from around 6pm with a small cover charge being in place for parking. The festival marks the return of a tradition that has captured added interest in recent years and follows on from Ballymahon’s staging of the Irish Ballooning Championships in 2010.
