Killashee

Congrats: Congratulations to Rathcline Ladies football team who won the Division 2 league final by defeating Colmcille at the Emmett Óg GAA grounds on Saturday last. The girls from Killashee and Newtowncashel along with Rathcline dedicated their victory to their great friend and team-mate, the late Alison Smyth. Well done to James and Barry, Madeline and Paddy on al their hard work and dedication with the team.

Lotto: The local lotto draw was held on Sunday night last. Numbers drawn were 6, 7, 12, and 28. There was no jackpot winner. €40 winner was John King. €20 each went to Eamon Hughes, Olive Molloy, and John Farrell. The next draw will be held on Sunday 4th November in the Richmond Inn, Clondra for a jackpot of €3,740. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Community Games: Co. Longford Community Games will hold a bag-packing fundraiser in Tesco, Longford on Saturday 27th October. All money raised will be used for the running of county events over the coming year. We hope that all areas will assist with this event and volunteers who would like to help out and are available to fill a two-hour slot are asked to contact the co-ordinator on 086 1219281. The next county meeting for Community Games takes place on Monday 5th November. Panel forms for Outdoor Soccer, Table tennis, Draughts and Chess are required for the meeting for the meeting. All those interested in partaking in these events need to contact Barry on 087 7963182 as soon as possible.

Sympathy: Deepest sympathy is extended to Mike and Kathleen Casey and family, Derryhawn on the recent death of Mike’s sister, Frances Whearty whose funeral took place in Mullingar. May her soul rest in peace.
