Congratulations to Ballinamore athlete Dylan Mimna, Drumshangore on lifting bronze in the U-15 Walk at the A.A.I. Indoor Championship finals on April 2nd last in Nenagh.


The death has taken place of Mr. Tom Reilly, Corrawallen and formerly Aughalough.

His funeral took place in St Mary’s Church, Drumlea on Saturday, April 8th. Sympathy is extended to his sisters Margie, Mary, Josie, Bernadette and other relatives. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

The McCartin School of Irish Dancing Annual Feis was held in Drumlea Community Centre on Saturday April 9th. Winners’ details to follow next week.


Garadice Gaels emerged at the wrong end of the scoreline in their U-14 game against Allen Gaels on Wednesday April 6th. The team lined out as follows: Fearghal Murray, Michael Prior (0-1), Niall stringer (0-1), Donal McCabe, Jake Bentley, Pierce Dolan (1-2), Yann Le Guen, Darragh Maxwell, Jason Prior, Dylan Mimna (1-3), Stephen Meissner. Sub: Michael O’Haire. Final score: Allen Gaels 7-9; Garadice Gaels 2-7.


The Drumlea lads and lassies were in sparkling form on Monday, March 28th in Pairc Droim Oir Bhealaigh, where they accounted for visiting Drumkeerin in the Cumann na mBunscoileanna competition. Scores courtesy of Dylan Galligan Maguire, Peter Prior, Caoimhe Gaffney, Stephen Meissner and Seánie Prior, and alert defensive work by all carried them to their 7-11 to 4-5 victory. The team lineout and subs were as follows: Ciara Lavin, Fearghal Murray, Hughie Maguire, Caoimhe Gaffney, Peter Prior, Dylan Galligan Maguire and Stephen Meissner.
