The marriage took place on Saturday 9th of April between Sandra Diffley, daughter of Eileen and Padraig, Conbrock and Bernard Casey, son of Betty and P.J Rapareehill in St. Patricks Church Killashee. The beautiful ceremony was celebrated by Fr. Diarmaid Hogan and Fr. Nigel Charles. The bride was attended by her sister tara as chief bridesmaid, other bridesmaids were Claire Casey, Siobhan Murphy and Una Manicle. Best man was Patrick Casey brother of the groom while the grromsmen were Joseph Masterson, Cathal McWeeny and Mark Waldron. The beautiful flower girl was Rachael Johnson. Following the marriage ceremony Sandra and Bernard were joined by a large number of family and friends in Lough Rynn where they wined dined and danced the night away. We wish the couple long life and hapiness together.


Congratulations to Alice Magan daughter of Mary and Mike, Killashee who celebrated her 21st birthday recently. Alice was joined by her family and friends in McPartlands, Clondra for a party to mark the special occasion.

The Disabled People of Longford (DPOL) are seeking volunteers to take part in the ladies mini-marathon on their behalf. They are fund-raising to purchase a bus for the Phoenix Centre which is located at the back of St. Joseph’s. THe bus will enable more people to avail of services and attend O.T and Physio appointments in the centre. The local lotto draw was held on sunday night last. Numbers drawn were 1, 5, 6, 8. The was no jackpot winner. €40 went to David Duke. €20 each went to Owen Johnson, Chis Kelly and Declan Shanley. The next draw will be held in The Richmond Inn, Clondra on Monday the 25th of April for a jackpot of 13,800. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.


On Sunday morning last, round two of the area league was held with Cloontagh, Killashee and Clondra battling it out on the playing field. Following a great display of football by all competitors, Cloontagh won the final and Captain Mikey Burke was presented with the Joe Duffy memorial plaque. Congratulations to every child who togged out and took part in this fun parish league and to the coaches and parents who turned out in large numbers to encourage them. Well done to all who organised the event and also to all who provoded refreshments after matches on both days.


Congratulations to the children of the parish who recently received the Sacrament of Reconciliation in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilashee.


The Easter egg draw will be held on Tuesday the 19th of April, tickets are on sale at the moment costing €2 each and are available from all children in the parish. Thank you to all who have already purchased tickets. The committee are appealing to anyone who has Tesco vouchers to give them to the club, they will be used to get more sporting equipment. Thank you to all who have been so genorous with tokens already.
