The following are the times and venues for the Ardagh Group of Parishes Church of Ireland Easter Services.
Good Friday: Devotional service in Kenagh church at 11.30am. Easter Eve: Holy Communion in Ballymahon at 7pm and in Kenagh at 9pm. Easter Day: Holy Communion in Ardagh at 10am and in Tashinney at 11.30am. Please note that the annual Easter vestry meetings for the four parishes in the Ardagh group will be held during the week after Easter. Further details from A.W. Kingston at 087-9195473.
The Ballymahon walking club are now meeting for walks on Wednesday nights. The walks will commence from the mart in Ballymahon and the meeting time is 7.30pm. Everyone from the area is invited to join in on these walking evenings.
In preparation for the Easter ceremonies a choir practice will take place in Carrickedmond church on Sunday next after10am mass. If you would like to be part of the Easter choir in Carrickedmond it would be much appreciated if you could attend.
The Moydow/Keel water scheme AGM will take place on Wednesday night the 20th April at 9pm in Moydow community centre. All concerned households are invited to attend.
The Carrickedmond Ladies football club are holding a Table Quiz in the Rustic Inn on Friday night next the15th April, at 9.00pm in the Rustic Inn Abbeyshrule. Table of four cost €40.00. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
The Abbeyshrule canal club are holding an open fishing competition day on the canal in Abbeyshrule on Sunday next the 17th April. Competitions will take place on the day for male, female and junior anglers with trophies for the biggest fish and runner up and also the smallest fish. This competition is being run with the help of Legan Inny Anglers and their rules will apply.
The meeting place for entries will be along the canal at the back of the airfield in Abbeyshrule at 1 pm. Fishing will commence at 1.30 pm and continue until 5.30pm and will be confined between the 38th and 39th locks. Entry fee for adults is €10 and juniors under 16years €5.

Is extended to Justin Mc Guire who competes in the World Irish Dancing championships which take place next week in City West Hotel Dublin. Justin will compete on Tuesday next the 19th April in the Boys under 15 competition. Hopefully Justin can do his parish and province proud in this world competition. Justin is a pupil of the Grainne Feely Academy in Co. Kildare.
Congrats to our Girls U13 Basketball team who are in the County Finals next Sunday 17th April at 6pm in Kenagh Community Centre against Longford South. Thanks to Cashel for a sporting game last weekend. Well done also to Grace Esler who got 2nd in the County U10 handwriting competition last weekend in Killoe. A reminder to all not to forget Sponsor Walk on Good Friday at 4.30 from Colehill. Our Annual Sports day will soon be coming up.
