Golf Society

Hit & Miss Golf Society Captains Day has arrived it will take place on the 10th October in the Slieve Russell Golf Club at 11.20am, tee off. This is our Captain Joe Mulligan big day and Joe has been an very active Captain all year. He would always be first man in the clubhouses at every outing to ensure everything was organised for all the members. He even manage to organise great weather for all the outings during the year. Here’s hoping all members will turn out on the day to ensure Joe has a great captains day. See you all at 10.50am in the clubhouse, after the golf there will be a meal and refreshments in the Breffni Hotel in Arva.

Benefit Dance

A Benefit Dance for the family of the late Sean Mulligan, Ballinamuck will take place in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva on Monday, 16th November 2015. Music on the night by Night Fever, Mick Flavin, Noel Cassidy, Jimmy Hussey, Busy Fingers Tickets cost €10 each - the committee will be out selling tickets over the next few weeks and your support will be very much appreciated. Tickets will also be on sale in Aughnacliffe Post Office.

Birthday Wishes

Congratulations to Vincent Smith, Gelsha who celebrated his 50th birthday with a trip to Croke Park for the All-Ireland Final last week. Hope you had a great time Vincent.

Angling Club

North Longford Anglers October competition on Sunday 11th October Fishing 10.30 to 4pm, check in at Dernaferst membersship 10 euro for season. Must be paid on day .

Computer Course

Community Education Services co funded by Longford Westmeath Education Training Board will be running a basic computer training course in Colmcille Community Centre and will commence shortly cost per night is €5 limited availability please contact Christine on 087-6450530 to book your place

Open evening

Open Evening and Enrolment - Ardscoil Phadraig, Granard. Parents of sixth class students are invited to attend our Open Evening on Thursday 15th October 2015 from 7-9pm. Pupils and parents can view the excellent school facilities, meet students and staff and see the achievements, work and the success of our students first hand. Parents/guardians are invited to enrol their children in the school on the night


Sincere condolences to the families of the late Mary Lizzie Kilbride, Aughkilmore; Margaret Mulligan, New York and formally Culray and Anna Kiernan, Fyhora who passed away during the week. RIP

Joker Game

In last weeks joker game, Anna Rose Reilly turned the 3 of Hearts and received €50. This weekend it was Linda Kiernan. Fostra who got a chance to win the Jackpot but Linda found the King of Clubs and also received €50. Next week Paul Mulligan. Crott has a chance at the €688 Jackpot.
