The above are running a Warmer Homes Scheme. This project will be free to individuals who are in receipt of Fuel Allowance or Family Income Supplement (FIS), or Jobseeker’s Allowance (for more than 6 months with a child/children),are a private a private home owner and the hose was built before 2006.Only homes that have not received works can apply for this project.If interested please contact 090-66-30252.

Hard luck to our girls

Hard luck to St. Barry’s under 14 girls who went so close to winning the Co. Final on Saturday last in Strokestown. Thanks to all who turned up to support the girls and thanks to those who have helped train the girls all year.

Road Safety

Many of our roads are windy and narrow and the upmost care and attention is needed. This time of year it can be at times difficult to see people walking or cycling on such roads, so please make sure you have proper clothing and lighting. If you are walking or cycling please take extra care particularly if you have younger family members in your presence. Weekly we will be keeping a focus on road safety in the region.

Progressive 25

Progressive 25 continues in Kilglass Community Centre on Tuesday nights at 8.30pm. We start our winter league on Tuesday, 30th September and continue until Tuesday, 23rd of December. New players welcome. For further details contact Seamus Nugent 0879309498 or Charlie Reynolds 0871252985.

Adoration

Adoraration of the Blessed Sacrament in St. Anne’s Church, Scramogue takes place on Friday evenings between 6.45pm to 7.45pm.

Yoga Classes

Yoga classes have commenced Wednesday in Ruskey village at 6.30pm. Booking essential. Phone 086.3308999.

Home Care workers required

Home Care Workers are required in the Strokestown, Tulsk, Knockvicar, Boyle, Elphin, Carrick on Shannon, Ballaghaderreen to work with Carers Association, Roscommon. Full Fetac Level 5 in Health Care required with a clean driving licence. Applicants must supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete Garda vetting. Rosary

Rosary recite every Thursday evening at 7.30pm at the Grotto in Tarmonbarry for the month of October.

Fun Run

McDonnell’s Centra, Strokestown 6k Walk/Run will take place on Monday, 27th October from Centra Car Park, Strokestown in aid of the Irish Cancer Society and Mayo/Roscommon Hospice. Starting time 10.30am. Refreshments served afterwards at Centra. Please support if you can.

Pioneer Association

November is the month of the Holy Souls. Many people act in honour of their deceased loved ones. You can do likewise. Take the short term pledge for November.www.pioneerassociation.ie or contact35318749464.A small fee applies for certificate and emblem pin.

Scramogue Choir

There will be a Choir practice on Thursday, 30th October at 7.30pm in Scramogue Church. All members please attend also any new members that would like to join please come along and new musicians would be more than welcome.
