Cemetery Sunday

Cemetery Sunday will take place on Sunday next, 17th August. Mass and blessing of graves in Killashee will be at 10.30am and in Ballinakill at 3pm. Blessing of graves in Clondra will be at 7.30pm followed by Mass at 8pm. Thank you to all who have been busy preparing the cemetery recently.


Deepest sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Anthony Carberry, Longford and Lanesboro whose funeral took place on Sunday last. May his soul rest in peace.


Congratulations to Pat and Josie Sullivan, Lehery who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The special occasion was marked with a party attended by family and friends. We wish Pat and Josie many more years of health and happiness.


St. Barry’s GAA Club, Tarmonbarry, cycle takes place on Sunday next, 17th August. The 100km cycle starts at 10 am, 50 km at 11 am and the 20km family cycle starts at 12 noon from St. Barry’s football grounds. Registration is from 8.30pm on the morning of the cycle. Food and drinks will be provided for all participants.

Community Games

The National finals of Community Games takes place this weekend and again next weekend. We have competitors in Art, cross country and track and field events. We wish them all every success and hope they all enjoy the experience of representing their county at the finals.
