Special Water Ski

A special water ski will take place on Christmas morning as a”Tribute” to the late Brian King. Enquiries to 087-6356729. The event is been organised by Whitehall/Kilglass Special Needs Group. The launch of the event took place at Strokestown Golf last Friday night. Lines are now on sale throughout the region and more details will become available in the coming weeks.

Bus Trip

Bus trip to Kilmanham Jail, Arbour Hill Cemetery and Collins Barracks Museum on Thursday November 21st. Contact 086-3746742 for further details.


We send our sympathies this week to Carmel Feeney, Scramogue on the death of her mother Bridie Hanly, Lisanaria, Roscommon which took place recently. We extend sympathy to Carmel’s brothers and sisters, also Carmel’s husband Jackie and son Ciaran. May she rest in peace.


Rosary will be recited in St. Anne’s Church, Scramogue every Wednesday meeting after Mass for the months of October and November. Mass is at 7pm.

Charity Shop

The Bell Tower Charity Shop is open in Ruskey. It is situated close to Cox’s Bar. All proceeds in support of Ruskey Church Restoration Fund.

Table Quiz

A fun table quiz will take place in Hanly’s Bar Strokestown on this Friday night 7th November commencing at 9.30pm. There will also be a mini auction on the night and all the funds raised will go towards Community Projects in the region. Tables of four 40 euro.


The parent and toddler group has resumed every Tuesday at Buttercups Playschool between 10an to 12noon.Please come along.

Set Dancing Classes

Set Dancing Classes for children continue at St.Barry’s Hall every Thursday evening at 6.45pm.All welcome especially beginners.Contact 086-1522614.

50 years in business

Congrats to Colette Sheehan Kelly who recently celebrated 50 years in business

In Longford town as an optician. Colette would have facilitated many people from the parish of Whitehall/Scramogue down the years and we wish her and her family the best of luck into the future.
