MASSES: Please note that Weekend Masses for the Month of April will be 8p.m. Saturday’s in Boherquill and 11a.m. Sundays in Rathowen.

DEATH: We extend our deepest sympathy to the Butler family on the death in Dublin of Mrs. Glady’s Butler, Mother of Roy, Andrew, Rev. George, Helen, Suzanne. and the late Robert. 
Mrs. Butler was predeceased by her husband William, many years ago. Our sympathy is offered to the extended Butler family. Mrs. Butler’s body was donated for science purposes. May she rest in peace.

SYMPATHY: Is extended to Freddie Wright and the Wright family on the death of his brother, Billy at a young age after suffering with Motor Neurons illness. Billy was predeceased by his father, William and mother, Winifred. Billy will be sadly missed by his brothers, Fred and John and sisters, Ann, Carol and Rowenda and his many friends in Eircom as well as many relations and friends. His funeral followed service in St. Paul’s Church, Newtownforbes last Saturday. May he rest in peace.

FUNERAL: The funeral took place following Mass in Legan last Saturday of Eilish Tighe, wife of Paddy (Padraig) Tighe, Rathowen. Our sympathy is offered to Paddy, her daughter, Susie and all the family. May she rest in peace.

AMERICAN TEA PARTY: As mentioned last week Alice Nerney is organising an American Tea Party in Streete Parish Park this Saturday, 6th April from 8.30p.m. to 10.30p.m. as a fundraiser for her niece Cathy Baxter who is a Medical student and has volunteered to travel to Tanzania, East Africa in June to provide Medical Care and urgent Medical Supplies. Hopefully many will be able to attend on the night. Tickets €10, youth free. Music and craic and still time for the pub after. All donations of money no matter how small or food for a table on Saturday night will be appreciated. All welcome and we will do our best to make it a good night. RAMBLERS: Last Sunday being Easter Sunday Boherquill Ramblers had no walk and we trust all families had a most enjoyable weekend. This Sunday, 7th April we head for Newtowncashel with Deirdre for our walk. Meeting points – Boherquill 1.30p.m. or outside the Community Hall in Newtowncashel at approx. 2.15 p.m. Now that we have the extra hour this should be a most enjoyable walk. PARISH PARK: - Streete Parish Park had an extremely busy weekend with Monster Bingo last Friday and the hall full to capacity, Sunday night was the Variety Concert and Monday night normal bingo and lotto. We thank you all for great support and look forward to your continued support.

APOLOGY: To the ladies in the local I.C.A. When I read my text about the A.G.M. I was late. Margaret sent it in time but I missed it. I did try and sent it to the papers but I was late. Sorry! My mistake.

FIRST FRIDay: As this is the First Friday of the Month Mgr. Earley will do the usual house calls in the Parish on Thursday and also there will be Mass on Friday in Boherquill at 8p.m.

CREMATION: The funeral cremation of the late Paddy Reilly late of Corolana, Lismacaffrey took place in Canada last week. Requiem Mass in his memory will be celebrated in Boherquill at 3p.m. on Saturday of next week, 13th April followed by burial of his ashes in Coolamber Cemetery. Paddy was brother of Catherine McCormack, Abbeylara, Oliver, Corolana, Seán and Una U. S.A. Hubert, Dublin, Noel, Portlaoise and the late Con. May he rest in peace.

LOURDES: We wish safe travel and an enjoyable trip to those who went to Lourdes with Fr. Joe McGrath last Monday for five days.

STREETE WILDLIFE CLUB: The club held the final of its winter clay shooting league on last Thursday night, and the following were the winner’s Class A: Brian Higgins Cavan, Class B: Gary Walsh Mullingar, Class C: Darren McCabe Cavan. Well done to all who took part. The Club’s 35th AGM is due to be held on this Friday night 5th April in the Cornmill Pub Boherquill at 8.45pm, and the Club’s annual Mass will be held beforehand at 8pm in St Mary’s Church Boherquill. It’s hoped that all members will attend.

Retired Teachers: - Will hold AGM on Tues April 9th at 11:30am in Longford Library. Lunch will follow and we then travel to Longford Garden Centre, Drumlish Road for 3pm where Laura Shaw will give demonstration and answer questions on all things related to gardening.
