Ballinagh March 4

There was widespread regret with the news of the death following a brief illness of Mr John (Jack) Hislop Collnacarrig Ballinagh. A member of a well known and highly respected family, Jack as he was known to his countless friends was throughout his long life a hard working and most industrious member of the farming community. An expert on livestock and farming in general his advice on matters related to agriculture were often sought and always readily available. A kind and helpful neighbour his passing is widely mourned .To his wife Hannah sons Harold and Tom , daughter Felicity brothers Tom Erick and Victor ,sister Mrs Constance Cowan, nephews , nieces and a large family circle to whom I extend the sympathy of our community. The funeral which was of extremely large dimensions and a fitting tribute to the esteem with which the deceased and his family are held throughout the community took place following service in Kilmore Cathedral to the local cemetery.
