Winter Time

Parishioners are asked to note the following: The weekend masses in St. Mary’s Church Drumlea will be at the following times: All Saints Day Friday October 31st: 8p.m. All Souls Day Saturday November 1st at 8p.m. Bingo will be in the Community Centre on Friday night at 9p.m.

Recalling October 1997

Various branches of the Quinn family, Drumdiffer convened for a family re-union on October 25th. The celebrant of a special Mass in St. Mary’s Drumlea was Fr. Seán Carey !R.I.P.), whose late mother Mrs. Quinn taught in Drumdiffer N.S. The annual Harvest Thanksgiving ceremony in St. Columba’s Church, Corrawallen was conducted by Rev. Sandra Lindsay. Drumreilly G.A.A. Club’s Race Night fundraiser was held in Drumcoura City on October 31st. Jarlath Conefrey and Louise Grimes had announced their engagement. It was Key of the Door time for Deirdre Prior, Drumlea, Drumlea and David Bowes, Corrawallen. Michelle and Joanne Holahan and Rose Mc Girl collected Connacht medals when Aughawillan Ladies defeated Ballymote in the Connacht final. John McKeon and Tony Lunney were members of the Leitrim Vocational Schools team, narrowly beaten by Sligo. For the second time in succession Mary McKeon was declared Leitrim Female Athlete of the Year. The following collected medals at the Leitrim Vocational Schools Sports: Francis Holahan (Long Jump, U-14 Shot and U-15 100 metres; Bríd Lunney (U-14 100 metres); Mary McKeon (U-14 100m., U-14 200m., U-14 400m.U-14 800m. and U-15 Long Jump); Catherine Fee (U-15 Long Jump and U-16 400m).Drumreilly Intermediate team was beaten 2-10 to 1-11 by Mohill. The lineout was Graham Thomas, Stephen Fee, Hugh Joseph Maguire, Chris Mimna, Declan Holahan, Frank Holahan, Kevin McNamee, Ollie Maguire (0-1), Pat Donohoe, Seán Mitchell, Pauric McGloin, Noel Connolly, Gerard Holahan (1-2),Pat Connolly (0-1) and John McKeon (1-6). The death took place of Mrs. Brigid McLoughlin, nee McLoughlin, Co. Offaly and formerly Kinkeen. R.I.P.

Community Centre Upgrade

Drumreilly Community Centre has undergone extensive decoration. The

interior and exterior walls of all rooms and the stage have been repainted.
