Cycle Race a big big success
The local community pulled out all the stops last Sunday as our annual Cycle Race in aid of St. Barry’s GAA turned out to be a major success. Large numbers participated in the 29k, 50k and 100k cycle race. The weather was not too bad but a few early showers did not dampen spirits. Everyone seemed to be up for a bit of fun and a good cycle. A great morning and afternoon of cycling took place. Thanks to the committee who worked really hard on this one, and thanks to all others who helped out in any way. I was talking to people from other areas who cycle in many such events and they were very complimentary of the way the event was run. What can one say about our team of ladies. The food display was fantastic and as cyclists arrived back in the Hall they were treated to a beautiful chicken and rice dish as well as sandwiches of all kinds buns, other treats, teas and coffees. Again, our friends were very impressed with the food. Well done ladies, you were really great.

Those Leaving Cert results
They are out and about … Again!!!!!. Young people scurrying here there and everywhere. Will I have enough points, What will I be offered in first round offer!!!! It seems such a rat race for many of our young folk. We wish you all well whatever your number of points are and even if you don’t get exactly what you want, something will workout for you. I always spare an extra thought for those who have not gained what they expected and now feel disappointed. Remember, never lose hope. Good results obtained in the local secondary schools serving this area.
