Death of a former resident

The death occurred of Anne Tully, (nee Harahan) on 1 August 2014. She was born and raised in Aughadrumincin and married her late husband, Matthew of Ballyhaise, Cavan, in Aughavas church in 1960. They emigrated shortly afterwards to New York City and had two sons; Gerard and Gabriel.  In later years, as she lived in Yonkers, New York and Greenwich, Connecticut, she welcomed her daugher-in-law, Cara, and grandchildren, Emily and Matthew, into the family. She was the youngest of six children and the last one to pass away. Her late sister was May Maguire whom never left the area and Anne regularly visited. Her last trip home was for the Augharan School reunion in 2012, where both of them were honoured for being among the oldest living graduates. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam uasal. I wish to thank her son Rev. Gerard P. Tully, CSP, Paulist Fathers, Knoxville, USA for sending this on to me.
