“Its better to travel hopefully than to arrive” could sum up Cavan’s outing to Armagh on Sunday last. The huge band of supporters expected so much from the lads having had such a great season last year and in the League. However, this defeat plus the pre-match scramble left a bitter taste and plenty to talk about on the long journey home.

Dancing Success

At the European championships in Spain recently, Enya Higgins, Mullahoran won U-9, her brother Fionn was second U8 and her sister Fainche won U7 Intermediate. All are children of Olivia Higgins of the local Scoil Rinnce Breifne and we congratulate all on this great achievement.

St. Oliver Plunkett

A Relic of St. Oliver Plunkett will visit the Chapel of the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cavan on Tuesday, 10th June. The Relic will arrive at 10am and be available for veneration until 9pm. Mass times 1pm and 7pm

End of Season

The Latin School Players wish to bid a fond farewell for this season of Drama to their loyal audiences who came out to support our Drama group in this year’s production of Kevin’s Bed by Bernard Farrell. A big thank you to all those who helped make our production such a great success and also a big thank you to the committee of the Latin School Community Centre for their on going support, it is very much appreciated.  

Rosie Run

Rosie Run in aid of The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (Imnda) will take place in Loch Gowna, Co. Cavan on Sunday, 20th July at 1pm. Registration begins at 11am. Prizes to be won and refreshments will be provided in the hall afterwards. Please support this worthy cause.

The mixed weather over the weekend brought some torrential downpours accompanied by thunder and lightening and farmers are keeping an eye on the forecast outlook. However a lot silage and bales were saved during a few good days last week
