County Champions

A big well done to our U-12 draughts team on winning the County draughts Final on Saturday last. The team on the day was Ciarion Scanlon, Connor Leonard, Sophie Kiernan Molloy, Liam Fagan and Dylan O Reilly; subs were Aoife Leonard and Siobhan Leonard. They will now go on to represent Longford in the Leinster. And only dropping 5 games on their way to the final the signs are looking good. Also in the finals were our U-14 team of Diarmuid Brady, Aidreann Fitzpatrick, Cathal Gillian, Caoimhe Lynch and Aoibhinn Masterson. They done well to reach the final but were piped at the post going down 6 - 4 to Killoe. Well done guys and we hope to see you back next year. We also had an u10 team out as well they were Michaela O’ Reilly, Lisa Maire Leonard, Maria Ledwich, James Brown, Dearbhaile Lynch, Aisling Scalon, and Aoibhinn Lynch. These young ones played great and after a hard fought game that ended in a draw were knocked out on the new rule of discounting the last board score and as we won both games it put us out final score 5-3. We hope that the boys and girls will keep the game up as it was the 1st time some of these played and we hope they will be back next year. A big thank you to Josephine O‘Reilly and John O’Reilly for their time that they have put into the kids, and no doubt will work hard with the u12s now. Upcoming events, names are now been taken for basketball all ages both boys and girls, U-14 quiz team, U-13 Futsal girls. Anyone wishing their child to take part in any event please contact a member of the community or through our facebook page.
