Girl Guides resumed on Wednesday, 15th January last . Brownies 6.45pm to 7.45pm. Guides 8pm to 9pm. Ladybirds Thursday, 16th January from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
Pat Hanly interview
Many people have contacted me to tell me they were delighted to hear Pat Hanly tell his life story on Shannonside Radio recently. Pat of Hanly’s meat plant Ruskey was featured on Community Focus about two weeks ago. Many former employees of the plant told me they were delighted to hear Pat’s voice on the radio.
GOAL Mile
Strokestown’s first GOAL Mile took place on St. Stephen’s Day and turned out to be a huge success. Well done to Andrew Reynolds for coming up with the idea.
Successful Card Game
Scramogue Church Restoration Fund card game which took place prior to Christmas in Leavy’s Lounge raised 2,361 euro. Thanks to all who supported, also thanks to Kieran and Mary Leavy and all who donated items.
Lip Reading Classes
Lip reading classes will commence at the Ruskey Community Centre early in the New Year. For further details contact Patricia at 086-8534100.
Set Dancing Classes
Set Dancing Classes for children continue at St. Barry’s Hall every Thursday evening at 6.45pm. All welcome especially beginners. Contact 086-1522614.
County Carers night
The first Annual Carers night for Co. Roscommon will take place in Country Ballroom, Tulsk Inn on Thursday, 30th January commencing at 9.30pm. A three hour dance with Patrick O’Sullivan, Dave Lawlor and Carmel McLoughlin will take place and monies raised will go towards the strengthening of services for all people involved or associated with the Carers Association. Admission will be 10 euro by ticket or by paying on the door on the night. You are asked to try and support this cause.
Table Quiz
St. Barry’s GAA will hold a Table Quiz in Keenan’s on Friday, 31st January. Tables of four 40 euro. Quiz is due to commence at 10pm. Please organise your team now.

Flowering Arranging Classes
Flower Arranging Classes will commence on Monday, February 3rd at the Old School, Ruskey between 8pm and 10pm. Contact Patricia at 086-8534100.
Club Registration
St. Barry’s Club registration took place at Barry’s Hall recently. If you have not registered, please ensure you do so as soon as possible. Fee as follows 20 euro child/student, 40 euro per adult, 60euro per family (children up to 18years). It is important that all members register without delay.
Ladies Circuit Training
Ladies Circuit Training in St. Barry’s Hall on Tuesday’s 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

Notice from Bank of Ireland
Bank of Ireland, Longford and Roscommon will open their branches to facilitate customers of banks that are closing and to make the switching of their Accounts easier. Thursday 23rd,and Thursday 30th between 5pm and 8pm are the dates in question.

The Annual General Meeting of St. Barry’s minor board will take place in the clubhouse on Monday, 20th January at 7.30pm. All club members and parents of underage players are asked to attend.
