Kenagh and district development association are hosting an American tea party on Saturday, November 23rd at 8pm in st. Dominic’s Community Centre in aid of our new community playground. Hosting a table involves inviting 10 people to join you for tea at 100 euro per table or 10 euro per head. Hosts are advised that tea, coffee, milk and sugar will be supplied on the night as well as a covered table you need to bring your refreshments so as not to put people under pressure, please keep it simple, just savories, sandwiches and cakes of all varieties. Entertainment is being kindly provided. Also a raffle with spot prizes. Anyone wishing to take a table or sponsor a prize are asked to contact Olive at 0876270358 or Cath at 0876892206.

Two new books recently launched are now on sale at local outlets in Kenagh and Ballymahon. Latest publication “ A Journey Back in Time” was launched in Cooney’s Hotel, Ballymahon on Friday November 1st. It was published by the Leo Casey history group, Ballymahon and is a very detailed and comprehensive story of the social life of Ballymahon town over the past 400 years. It is good value for 20 euros and is available from Kenagh Post Office, Terlicken Filling Station, Nallys Service Station, The Country Shop and McGowans. The “Rocky Road to the Dail” was produced by retired TD Paddy McCormack and is a very good account of his 37 years in politics. It has a good local input along with his life story in the Senate and the Dail. Again good value 20 euro.
Progressive 25 winners in St. Dominic’s Centre last Thursday night were Bill and Pete, Bridie and Sean, 11 games each, all share in 160 euro. Table prizes: Tommy and Frank, Barry and Josie , Val and Pat, all get 20 euro each. Raffle: Liam McHugh, Josie Connaughton, Simon Boland, Sean Parker, Noreen Gibbons, Eugene Kelly, all win 10 euros each.
Mothers and Toddlers
The Kenagh mother and toddlers group meet every Wednesday morning over the Sticky Fingers Creche from 9.30am to 12 noon, new members are always welcome.
The numbers drawn in Kenagh GAA lotto for November 10th were 19, 20, 24, 26. There was one match three winner, Josie Cooney, Hotel, Ballymahon, wins 80 euro.
