Visit by 4th Field Artillery Regiment: On Tuesday 4th December(from 10 am to 2.00pm) to mark the closure of the regiment, the army 4th Field Artillery regiment from Mullingar will conduct a Battlefield Tour of Ballinamuck followed by a gun salute at Gunner McGee’s last stand. Timetable is as follows: 11.00am Brief talk on the Battle of Ballinamuck from Kilticreevagh Hill; 12.30pm: Lunch at Ballinamuck Community Centre; 2pm: “End of Mission” at Magee’s Last Stand & ceremonial Gun Salute.

Centre celebrates 25 years: A gala weekend to celebrate the 25year anniversary of the community centre and the gathering 2013 is been organised for the May bank holiday weekend 3rd-5th May 2013. A fun filled entertaining weekend is promised for everyone. There has been a facebook page set up for the event if you could like and share it with family and friends at home and abroad we would be grateful. Any old photos or stories that people may have we would appreciate. These all will be minded and returned to owners. These can be dropped into Bridget in the post office. Anyone interested in helping out or taking part in this weekend the next meeting this Thursday 29th at 9pm in the centre all welcome. 98 Hall, Ballinamuck: As work is now completed on the restoration on the roof on the old RIC building to the front of the hall with the help of LCRL funding the committee has to make up the balance of the costs. In order to help with costs we are asking for our communities help. We are asking you to support our bingo which is held in the hall every Tuesday with a weekly prize fund of €1300. We will also have extra prizes each panel in bingo for the next three weeks in December and on the final week we will have an extra prize of a hamper, there will also be a bonus raffle for a saorview TV . We hope that every household in the parish will come along over the coming weeks and support .

Ballinamuck Christmas Party: This years party will take place in the ’98 Memorial Hall Ballinamuck on Sunday 9th December 2012 at 2.00pm finishing at 6.30pm.Individual invites will not be issued but all are welcome to attend on the day. Recent Deaths: The death has occurred at her daughter Miriam’s residence ,Rathnaleen Nenagh, Co. Tipperary in her 106th year of Bridie O’Mahony, late of Drumlish and Longford, wife of the late Dr. Michael, and mother of the late Dr.Albert. To her daughter Miriam, son-in-law Michael, daughter-in-law Donna, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister-in-law Dr. Mary Shannon, relatives and friends we extend our deepest and sincere sympathy. The death took place at St.James’ Hospital Dublin of Eileen Quinn CAstlepark Newtownforbes.
