Line dancing

Breffni Kickers line dancing classes on Thursday nights in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva with beginners at 8.30pm followed by the more advanced at 9.30pm. Everyone welcome.

St Patrick’s NS

St Patrick’s National School are collecting old mobile phones for the Jack /Gill Foundation. If they collect 120 phones they will receive a free laptop for the school. If you have an old phone you would like to donate, please leave into the school or in the collection box in the post office.

Bishop Francis Duffy

On Sunday next, 18 May, 11am Mass in Gowna will be celebrated by Bishop Francis Duffy, Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise and in Mullinalaghta church on Saturday, 17th May at 8pm.

Baby boy

Congratulations to Karol and Melanie Crotty, (nee White), Cavan on the recent birth of their baby boy. A welcome grandson for Mrs Mairead White, Gowna and Donal and Geraldine Crotty, Farnham Road, Cavan.

First Communion

On Sunday, 11th May was a special day for the children of Loch Gowna when they received their First Holy Communion in the Church of Holy Family, Gowna from Fr PJ Fitzpatrick who celebrated the mass. Refreshments were provided to the children and their families in the community centre afterwards. We congratulate the children on this special occasion. The recipients were Michaela Leddy, Roisin O’Reilly, Emer McEntee, Leah Simpson, Amy Mellor, Conor Martin, Cian Halton, Robin O’Reilly, Niall Hand, Philip Cadden, DJ Madden, Paul Madden and Ciaran McConnon.

Blood donor clinic success

The Irish Blood Transfusion service wish to thank the 180 donors who attended the recently held clinic in St Brigid’s Community Centre, Loch Gowna. A breakdown of the total figures show that four first time donors and 14 former donors attended the clinic. For more information on the service please call John Healy on 041 685994.
