PLAYGROUND & COMMUNITY PARK CLOSED: The RCD have contractors in who started work on the community Park and they are asking all parents to keep their children out of the community field and Play ground until work is completed. This is a Health & Safety issue and there will be large machines working so for the safety of all please make sure your children are aware of the dangers and respect that they have to stay out of the community field and Playground until all is finished.
Lotto: Next draw is Monday 27th May. Winning numbers last week for the jackpot of €9,500 were 06,23,24 and 27. No winner of jackpot so the drawn ticket winners of €30 are Mick Burke, Brian O’Connor and Niamh Kennedy. ST MARY’S NATIONAL SCHOOL: First Holy Communion: Congratulations to the following children who made their 1st Holy Communion on Saturday, 11th May in St. Mary’s Church. Michaela McGlynn, Leila Noone, Sally Mooney, Emily Fitzgerald, Rachael Cowdy, Maria Clancy, Katie Baird, Brian O’Hara, Luke Heduvan, Setanta Flood, Calahan Flood, Luke Beirne. A special word of thanks to the Parish choir, to our Parents Association who very kindly looked after the refreshments, to all the parents for their help and support in making it such a special day for the children. Finally thank you to Monsignor Earley and Mrs. Lambden who prepared the children so well for their first Holy Communion.
Community games: A newly formed committee has community games back up and running members are - Chairperson: Leah Clancy; Secretary: Donna McDonald; Treasurer: Kathleen Greene; PRO: Sabrina Parker. A sports day has been organised for Thursday, May 23rd at 6.30pm in Streete Parish Park and the winners will go forward to the county level in Mullingar the 9th a June. All welcome
BBQ IN AID OF M.S. IRELAND & BUNBROSNA GAA: As part of Andrew Whitney’s Lord Mayor Campaign Andrew is hosting a Pig Roast and BBQ in Feerick’s Hotel Rathowen on Saturday 25th May. This is Andrew’s final event in aid of Bunbrosna G.A.A. and M.S. Ireland and your support will be greatly appreciated. Meeting: Midland Retired Secondary Teacher’s Assoc. final meeting before summer will take place in Longford Library on Thurs May 23rd at 10:30am. We hope have short presentation on “Safety when using technology”, and other computer related topics. Please share your tips/best websites/shortcuts etc with us on the day.
