A Feis under the direction of the Maureen Farrell School of Dancing will take place on Sunday February 13th commencing at 11.30am in Saint Dominics Community Centre. Irish dancing classes continue every Monday in saint Dominics Community Centre. First session at 4pm. Second session at 5.15pm. Telephone Maureen on 086 3702719 for further particulars.

Winners in Saint Dominics Centre last Thursday night were Packie and Tom , Ned and Tom. Table prizes Mike and Pat, Bill and Pete. They get twenty euro each. Raffle Jimmy Walshe, Peter Donlon, Ned Dervin, Peader McGarry, Tom Dennigan, Tom Mulvihill all get ten euro each.


Kenagh ladies social club will be meeting every Wednesday night from now on to summer time. There will be instructions on line dancing from this wednesday night onwards. New members are always very welcome.

Royal canal

There are a few DVDs on the opening of the Royal Canal available at ten euro each from Pat Newman and Bernie Matthews Foigha.


We offer our sympathy to Mary Garrahan Clonbroney on the death of her father Frank Cox Begnagh Killashee which occurred at his residence on February 3rd. He was husband of Francie Doyle formerly of the Island Kenagh. He was buried in Ballinakill cemetery after one o’clock Mass in Killashee on Sunday last.

We also offer our sympathy to Helen Farrell Cartronwar Kenagh on the death of her father Jimmy Connell Abbeyshrule which occurred at his residence after a long illness on February 3rd. He was buried in Abbeyshrule Cemetery after one o’clock Mass on Sunday.

Our sympathies are extended to Bridie Lawe Kenagh on the death of her brother Bernie Dennigan Rooskey Co Leitrim which occurred in Shannon Lodge Nursing Home Rooskey on February 2nd. He was buried in Cloonmorris cemetery after eleven o’clock Mass in Bornacoola Church on Saturday last.

Sympathy also to the Treanor family Creevaghbeg Ballymahon on the very sudden death of Eddie Treanor (garage proprietor) which occurred on Friday February 4th. Funeral arrangements later. May they all rest in peace.


The numbers drawn in Kenagh weekly GAA Lotto were 9, 13, 21, 27. There were four match three winners Mick Carroll Rosemount, “The Cards” BP Care of father Tom Barden and AP c/o Father Tom Barden all get twenty euro each. 6500 euro going on four correct numbers next week , draw will be held in the El Paso.


Kenagh GAA social will be held in the El Paso on Saturday night March 5th. Tickets available.


We are reliably informed that the county Longford ploughing championships will be held in Terlicken on Easter Sunday April 24th. More later.


The Monthly meeting will be held on next Monday night Feb 14th in community centre. All are welcome to attend.

Kenagh Parents association are holding their annual Easter fete on April 10th in St Dominics Community Centre Kenagh. As with previous years we are again asking for your help.
