It is with deep regret hat we record the death of Frank Cox of Begnagh Killashee which occurred at the weekend. Frank came from Curraroe Co Roscommon and took up residence in Begnagh in1949. He was a very progressive farmer and set about modernising the farm and building a new dwelling house. The late Frank was one of a few people to own a car and tractor in those early days in these parts. He also did work for hire which was of great benefit to the local people. A long time member of the FCA for many years attaining to the rank of lieutenant. He loved to converse and interact with all age groups and had a great store of knowledge on many subjects and events. His keen interest in people , bright mind and quick wit endeared him to both young and old. He was blessed with excellent good health all of his long life and was a pioneer and non smoker. The late Frank will be sadly missed by all who had the good fortune for knowing him. To his dear wife Frances, daughters Catriona Cox, Mary Garahan, Geraldine Charmers, sons in law, sister in law, grandchildren relatives friends and neighbours, we extend our deepest sympathy. Funeral Mass took place in St Patrick’s Church Killashee on Sunday last and burial in Ballinakill Cemetery. May he RIP.
