Householders are reminded to exercise caution when leaving car keys unattended when at home. Leaving keys in a position where they are visible through a window or letterbox means that they may be accessible to a determined thief using equipment they may carry for the purpose of removing the keys to steal your car. Either keep your keys on you at all times, or secure them out of sight from prying eyes. Be wary of door to door callers offering goods or services at unrealistically low prices. If something seems too good to be true, it usually is. If in any doubt about any caller, keep your door firmly closed and alert the Gardai, friends and neighbours without delay.
